I just tried to buy another 5 gal bucket of TIPT from Akzo Noble in Chicago. They no longer sell that product. I was told that they sold that part of the company to : WM Grace 1-800 242 6026. Talk to Kathy Atwell she is a really nice lady and I got my stuff in about a week. Just a quick FYI Joe

wm grace is the 2nd time the company
has changed hands this year,last co. was kinda slow,but my last order from wm was no problem....I like them.

this leaves me wondering if the company keeps getting passed around because of potential toxicity issues coupled to liability. I am only speculating but the glass etching creams sure vanished from the mainstream in a controversy over the legality of disposal issues.

It seems to me that any material that essentially etches glass is really worth being cautious over.

Is TIPT any less of a hazzard than Stannous Chloride or do you have to use the same precautions?

I believe it is less hazardous but you should read the MSDS. Never had a sore throat from it. Can't say the same about the stannous. You should ventilate it away from your work space the same way. Blowing it into your neighbors window or onto people in the street is the prefered method.

Is TIPT only for surface use, or can it be encased in clear?
