Wire melters: How tall is your furnace?

How tall is your funace, from the floor to the sill, gathering port/hole, etc.?

Surface of gather port is 23.5" from floor. 65# top open wire melter. Inside, Pot Bottom +/- 12" from floor.

I stand 5'4" in shoes.

Ah, I'm 6'2" right out of the shower. I figured I'd go 30-32" floor to sill. Just wanted to see what others are doing. Thanks for weighing in.

I have two top-loaders - modified Mark Lauckner designs. The lips of both of my pots are at 24". On my larger furnace the gathering port is at 30.5" and my smaller one is at 27.5". I'm 6'4" and both are comfortable to gather from, but I wouldn't want to be any higher than that.

The web page is a little dated, and I plan to update it, but just never seem to find the time. That little furnace is a workhorse! Except for periodic maintenance, the occasional vacation, one relay failure, and one overhaul due to a cracked pot (separate incident from the relay), that thing has been running 24/7 since February 2000. I couldn't be happier with it!
