Donations are encouraged for the annual Empty Bowls event.
Once again this year two Food Banks in North Dallas will be holding their Empty Bowls fund raising events on Friday February 16 in the lobbies of the Bass Performance Hall in Ft. Worth and Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas.
The event brings together restaurants which donate food and pottery, wood, and glass workers who donate bowls along with people who donate $25 and get to sample the various entrees, soups, breads and desserts and get one bowl. Addtional activities include silent auctions and premium tables for higher value donations. The names of donors will be listed for attendees and a modest paper label is not out of line.
Donations should be at the receiving sites by February 5th for Dallas and the 7th for Ft. Worth. Trinity Ceramics 9016 Diplomacy Row Dallas TX 75247 214-631-0540 and the Tarrant Area Food Bank, 2600 Cullen Street, Fort Worth TX 76107, 817-332-9177x110 are receiving points.

If you are in the area (or wiling to ship in) whipping off a couple of bowls or sending bowls that you have made, including those made as test pieces and examples you have not sold. This was started by pottery people in another part of the country and many of the donations are made by school students for practice and donations.
