does anyone knows about RC suppressor, and the purpose of it?
are they really necessary with watlow 96 series controllers?

If you are controlling an M.D.R. or mechanical relay with that (or almost any) control with a 120-240v relay out you want to use the supresser.

The supresser is sold under the name "Quencharc" by Watlow and costs less than $5.00 and when wired in parallell with the relay will stop destructive arcing in the tiny relay in the back of the control.

Over the long run this will make the control last a long time and not burn it up.

I anm pretty sure that this is what you are asking about.
