Recently we went and picked up some color scheme samples from paint stores. They've been useful for ideas when I'm feeling less than original with color combinations. Anyone have any other sources for easy color combo ideas?

This is probably real sappy but I really wish I could do the color combinations I am seeing in my yard now that all of my trees have turned.

Mac Cosmetics has pretty good color combinations. Another good source are women's' fashion magazines.

Graffitti, anything in the fabric arts, quilts, rugs, old pattern books, the designers guide to color series of books, the other books in the graphic arts section that deal with color like the Pantone one.

Excellent idea Pete! I'll grab a lantern, you bring the shovels, and we'll visit Tammy Faye on Halloween! (Pics to be posted on 11/1.) :D

This is a tough one cause I always go for edgy bright colors (hot orange & red or black with reduced cane patterns on the surface) Then we do shows & the crowd oohs & aahs , steps back & says "but where will I put it in my house?". Oh, say the other vendors, "You should sell in Florida or California because of your bright, saturated colors".
Lately I've decided to get more subtle & think about the typical home so I don't do stuff that will really clash with the neutral tones on walls, carpet, furniture etc. (Boring)
But I'm with you Steve, think Fall, I'm gonna go for more orange & red regardless. We are doing an Open Studio w/demos etc. in early Nov. Think fall & it'll sell (I hope)

This book (http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Color-Harmony-Information-Professional/dp/1592530311) is one I own and has two, three and four color combinations grouped in many catagories from warm to cold, natural to surprising. Only downside is they don't use enough color choices, but a fine tool anyway.
