Beware, I got this email this morning from our site, it seemd a little fishy, when I went to www.concurrentideas.com

It redirected to the Glass Art Society Store.

Scam? sure seems like it to me. A copy is being sent to GAS as well to check it out.

Interesting........

The phone number listed is a cell phone in Las Vegas. There is no listing with the Secretary of State's office in Nevada for a corporation of that name.
As a side note I found the home page information from the Secretary's page interesting:

"Why Incorporate in Nevada?

* No Corporate Income Tax
* No Taxes on Corporate Shares
* No Franchise Tax
* No Personal Income Tax
* Nominal Annual Fees
* Nevada corporations may purchase, hold, sell or transfer shares of its own stock.
* Nevada corporations may issue stock for capital, services, personal property, or real estate, including leases and options. The directors may determine the value of any of these transactions, and their decision is final.
* No Franchise Tax on Income
* No Inheritance or Gift Tax
* No Unitary Tax
* No Estate Tax
* Competitive Sales and Property Tax Rates
* Minimal Employer Payroll Tax - 0.7% of gross wages with deductions for employer paid health insurance
* Nevada's Business Court
o Developed on the Delaware model, the Business Court in Nevada minimizes the time, cost and risks of commercial litigation by:
+ Early, comprehensive case management
+ Active judicial participation in settlement
+ Priority for hearing settings to avoid business disruption
+ Predictability of legal decisions in commercial matters"

We have talked to over 20 of these type companies just this month alone!!!

ugghh...and yeah, he admits to using the GAS site for now also.

We get so many emails at our office address that I go through a couple of times a day and just delete ALL that come from a source that I do not recognize. We advertise with just one on line service and ignore new business inquiries from ANY other online source. We may lose a few potential clients using this strategy but I just dont have time to wade through the volume of junk that comes in. In the last six months or so, the volume of fax spam has increased dramatically as well. Not much I can do about this since we have to have a fax machine on 24 hours a day. Just the cost of doing business I guess.

The links on this site (http://www.junkfax.org/fax/basic_info/other_junkfax.htm) may, or may not, be helpful.

There was an article in our paper a few years ago about a local guy who had about a 50% success rate collecting fines from fax spammers. I recall it took a lot of time and patience, but he had, to that date, recovered a few thousand bucks.

Personally, I've always liked the idea of sending back a loop of black construction paper after business hours. I've never tried it, but have been tempted. ;)
