Finally getting the moly furnace built with the elements I got from Steve a few years ago and it's been so long I can't remember where the taper on the element is supposed to go, inside the crown or down the below the crown. I remember it is important though and how much of the element should stick above the insulation for connection?
Thanks!

I have a 300lb Stadelman. Everything to the left of the brick hangs inside the furnace. Here's how they are installed in my furnace.

Place the taper just below the crown, slightly inside the chamber, get 2-3" above the passage brick, keep the heater 2" from anything inside the chamber for best results.
