There's a new documentary out produced by the museum of glass in tacoma. Here's a link to some very basic info: http://calendar.thenewstribune.com/tacoma-wa/events/show/81570247-the-time-of-lino-documentary

I just happened to catch the last 30 minutes on our local public tv station (KCTS) tonight. It was wonderful - lots of footage from Murano, lots of interviews with other glass artists and of course Lino himself. Great documentary if it gets airplay in your region.

I wonder if that's the same video that comes with this book (http://www.washington.edu/uwpress/search/books/FRALIN.html) (Lino Tagliapietra in Retrospect - A Modern Renaissance in Italian Glass; Susanne K. Frantz, University of Washington press). The title is the same ("The Time of Lino"). If it is the same, I would have to agree. It's an excellent video. Interviews with Lino, Chihuly, and other seminal figures. Some history, some archival video and stills. Well shot, well edited, good sound, good music. TMOG hotshop (no audience!) footage of Lino & team making some of his signature pieces with overdub commentary by Dante Marioni: Dinosaur ("Pilchuck 96"), Angel Tear (switch axis) , Saturno (if you've seen it done you know how complicated it is), Spiral (ah ha!), Batman, Endeavor (one w/cane, one w/murrini - filmed at Lino's Seattle shop?).

Favorite quote by Dave Walters: "he's got a special energy..."

Yup - that sounds like the same one - the Seattle shop is where Lino usually blows and it's Jim Mongrain's studio in Mukilteo.
