I was just at the GAS conference in PDX and on the Corning display stage they had a marver that you could adjust by pumping a foot pedal and it adjusted the height of the marver.

We have both short and tall workers and this would be great. Any idea of who makes them? or who might have plans on how to build one?

Thanks

Lots of tool and die shoips have them for die lift tables, you might search under that term on EBAY or at a used machinery dealer. You would have to add the marver plate, as the tables as manufactured have a stamped steel top that is about 3/16" thick.

I've seen those made from old salvaged barbershop chairs, as well.

A hospital gourney would make a great marver-

You can buy those lift tables at any auto parts store. Northern Tool sells them. The ones that Corning uses were made at the Steuben Millwrite shop at Steuben Glass. They bought the lift table and welded a SS plate to the top. They are adjustable both up and down by meens of a foot operated hydraulic jack and you can also tilt the table away from you. Kind of a pain in the ass when the taller guys pump it all the way up and you are short. They sometimes do it just to be a Pain in the ass. You know just joking around.

I had a used birthing table for a GYN office. It tilted in every direction imaginable and even had a cool screw out drawer under the tbale.

I don't even want to think about what that drawer was for...

Sounds like it could be the BIRTH of a new generation of marvers Pete.

In retrospect I wish I hadn't sold it. We had two 53 foot trailers come east when we moved and they each weighed in at over 50,000 lbs net. Stuff had to go.

That thing was great. It tilted every way you could imagine, pumped up and down and rotated. I paid $100 dollars for it. I don't think I'll get another like it here in the Mt Washington Valley.
