Pete,
Did you guys get any damage from the storms centered 50 miles south of you today?

We just had a ton of rain. It wasn't more than about ten miles south of here actually. The swath was about 50 miles long. Pretty unusual. You would think there might be something wrong with the planet or something, but Bush assures us everything is fine.
I got a very nice eight inch schedule 80 piece of PVC for my birthday. I plan to make the vanes for a wind generator out of it, My son stripped the motor out of a treadmill and it will supply the power to pump water out in the sheepfield.
I also got some nice muckboots. Always useful.
Next year- plumbing fixtures!

Damn Pete! We were in Andover, NH breeding our yellow lab on Wednesday - Friday to a Black lab who's owner has a son that is a glass major @ RISD. (The son is a glass major, not the dog). The rain was 4" - 6" on Thursday. The twister as it was called on Thursday was a bit south of us and wiped out 100 houses and a few lives (3). I had hoped that between the breeding's that we might have had a day or 2 day check out the Kancamagus Highway: but the constant rains kept us house bound. I didn't realize that you were that far north and yet so close. Maybe next time.

Well that explains no birthday present. I was waiting for a whole line of people to come and kiss the ring, but there weren't any. Come to think of it, I don't have a ring either...
We get these strange storms here that don't quite act like twisters, yet they produce a combination downdraft and updraft that sucks the snot out of pine trees and houses. We had a spot one on the tree farm about ten years back that took down about 100 big pines in a really small area.
