Hi, to anyone with a studio in West Michigan, I need to rent a little time to make a replica for a client. My furnace is off until May and he would like it sooner than that. I need an hour maybe, can someone help?

Thanks
Jud

Waterstreet glassworks in benton harbor michigan offers rental time, i think its like 65$ for two hours bench time. not shure how far away it is from you but its a pretty cool place.

West we are not. We're in Oxford which is another 75 miles further than the trip to Benton Harbor (approx 4 hours from you) Could certainly accommodate you if you can't get time any closer.

Hi Jud,

We just shut down for the winter a couple of weeks ago or you'd be welcome at our place. Maybe Harry Boyer at Boyer Galssworks in Harbor Springs or the guy in East Jordan? (Jordan Valley Glass?) I don't know if either of them rent, but for a one-time thing it may work out. Otherwise I think that there's someplace in Kalamazoo that rents also. I agree with Eli that Water Street in BH is probably your best option, but it's 140 miles from you.

Thought you were moving to PDX?

You could try Furnace hot glass in Dearborn or Michigan hot glass in Detroit.

Drew is right you can rent from Michigan Hot Glass as Well as the Academy/Furnace Design in Dearborn....

However if you are traveling you might as well rent from the Toledo Glass Pavilion it will be HALF THE PRICE as a private studio! And if you've never been there it's worth the trip! :)

Thanks for the reply's, I find it amazing how much studios want to charge per 4 hour slot. Owning a hot shop myself, I know what the costs are.

I did, worked the channels, got a job, and then my wife freaked out and decided she couldn't take care of everything in Michigan with out my help. Working full time and two kids is hard. We are planning on moving after the school year, sometime this summer hopefully.

I figured your studio was off at this time, I'm actually going to hold off on making the reproduction right now. Just not economically feasible.

thanks - happy 2010!

Well, we're starting up in early March and when we do you're welcome for free. Put it on your calendar, we're glad to have you there.
