Controller

I was running my annealer with a partlow 1166. It died on me. I have a Watlow F4 and wanted to run my annealer with it. I had my electrician wire it up and things turned on but the contact points didn't click. The contact points still are good as far as I have tested. Anyone have suggestions or a affordable replacement for the partlow 1166

Charlie Correll seems to have a lot of partlows. A call there might be worth it.

Otherwise, I am beginning to think the entire crop is worth shit compared to the older ones.

My two go-to brands for annealer controllers are Aubers or SOLOs.

They both strike a good balance between value (prices range from $50-$150) and reliability. I have used them on several kilns & ovens and have never run into issues, although I'd probably go a little more upmarket if I was buying a controller for a furnace.

Aubers are a little funnier to use, you set temperatures digit-by-digit instead of changing things a degree at a time like most controllers. Not too bad once you get used to it though. SOLOs handle similarly to most other controllers.

Sounds like the controller output isn't correct for the relay. When I went to the Bartlett for my one annealer I had to change the relay as the input was different. I am still in my first year with the bartletts.

1) Love the number of programs.
2) Love how easy they are to program.
3) It is great having the phone app to check the annealer.
4) It is handy to be able to download the 30 second by 30 second view of actual and target temps.
5) Wish they ramped a bit faster when you open the door.
6) Wish they had an honest soak step.
7) They program by rate and temp not time. Would be nice to have a time and target option.

Give me a straight shot lining up these aubers and I'll pull the trigger on them in a heartbeat.
