Type S Thermocouple

It is time to start going through all the extra backup parts that I've accumulated over the years. I have two Type S thermocouples for sale. Both were back to Pyromation for testing and calibration this spring. They are in like new condition. One has a "corrosive environment" protective sleeve attached to the head. The other has a mullite shield that I used as is in ovens, or slid it into the protective tube in my furnace crown. When bringing a new furnace up to temp I placed two additional probes in various spots to monitor the evenness of the temperature within the chamber. I also used them in my ovens to test the same thing as well. Feel free to ask any questions. Both are 12" long. $300 for either one.

Images to come...

That's a very nice price for those Pat. I have a number of both Type S and R which I have had in service since 1976 and they are all fine. Just replace the mullite protection tube on a regular basis and they simply will last forever.

Mullite Tube

Does anyone know the size of the Mullite tubes used in a Stadelman 300#- getting ready for a rebuild and apparently this one has never been changed in 11 years. Feeling lucky!

Would rather get it in stock before I turn down
Thanks,
Dan

And unstuck before turn down. That is if you want to remove it in one piece.

You can always unscrew the weather head pull the tc wire and use a unisulated wire to measure length. The diameter should be easy to measure from the outside. I've found it's cheap enough to replace the whole weather head then trying to mortar a new protection tube into a old weather head.

Your tube came from Grant / Edgell which is in either Seattle or Portland.
