Blow hose tubing
Can you get blow hose tubing in Home Depot?
I donít like the clear hose for aquariums.
Where else can you get the hose.

Shawn Everette 06-13-2019 09:19 AM

Doubtful. Look for latex tourniquet tubing.

Randy Kaltenbach 06-13-2019 10:22 AM

Surgical tubing works quite well and is available in many pharmacies here. Purchase by the foot is reasonably priced.

Rich Samuel 06-13-2019 01:29 PM

Franklin, spearfishermen and fishing lure makers use surgical tubing. Head to the waterfront.

Pete VanderLaan 06-13-2019 01:46 PM

or in your case, the pharmacia. It's pricey stuff actually. Maybe some local herion addict has some available.

Shawn Everette 06-13-2019 02:15 PM

Make sure to use an alcohol swab.

Another suggestion is to visit Island Hobbies in Port of Spain. Check to see if they have silicone fuel tubing for radio controlled models powered by little nitromethane/methanol engines. Should fit the bill, and probably will last longer before deteriorating, compared to the surgical type latex hose.

Any medical supply store like Brennans has it.

David Russell 06-13-2019 07:25 PM

I get it from lowes hardware store in 10 foot sections. So home depot likely has it as well..

Amazon choices
"Natural Latex Rubber Tubing"

1/4" OD

1/5" OD

I've purchased blow hoses with black tubing which is more flexible than some latex hoses, but I don't know what it's called. The price for the above are right, if they work...

Franklin Sankar 06-15-2019 02:27 PM

Thanks. None here. The hospital have none they use a glove to tie off the arm. We have been trying to deal with the huge influx of Venezuela immigrants. They will further burden our struggling public health but I feel so sad for them. Unfortunately there are some bad ones in the crowd.
I am ok with my blowhose for now but preparing to get some spares.

Franklin Sankar 06-15-2019 02:32 PM

Would the tubing Monte show above work.?

Sky Campbell 06-15-2019 06:12 PM

I wouldnít want any latex tubing with less then a 1/4Ē ID and a 1/16Ē wall.
6mm ID and 1.6mm wall thickness for our fractionaly challenged friends.

Anything smaller makes you work harder blowing and anything thinner kinks at the most inopportune moment. This my personal observation I know some might disagree.

Pete VanderLaan 06-16-2019 08:10 AM

I'm a lot like a labrador with a mailbox around those things. I tried it. Eventually someone took pity on me and set me free.

Franklin Sankar 06-16-2019 08:20 AM

So Pete do you still use the blowhose. .
I canít blow without it. Itrie many many times to blow and cap.. my thumb has a hole. My neck is too short and I canít see the hot end
I donít know how you live without it.

Pete VanderLaan 06-16-2019 07:07 PM

I live well without it and sleep well at night knowing it's somewhere lost in the building.

Ted Trower 06-16-2019 07:36 PM

Physical Therapists use a product called theratube. It works really well.

Monte G Becker 06-17-2019 05:56 AM

Thera-Band on Amazon

$14 for 25 feet comes in 8 different colors...

Ted Trower 06-17-2019 07:01 AM

Make sure you get Theratube and not Theraband.

What about the other part near the mouth piece. The tube that fits over the blow pipe

Mark Rosenbaum 06-17-2019 10:54 AM

Franklin, why are you trying to reinvent the wheel? If you have to re-engineer the tubing and the mouthpiece why not just buy one that works from Olympic or Wale Apparatus?

Careful Mark, you sound like me.

Sky Campbell 06-17-2019 04:40 PM

Automotive heater hose 1Ē will fit snugly on the blowpipe. A rubber stopper or cork in the end of that to connect your swivel. For the mouth piece Iíve seen everything from custom glass ones to repurpose of an old ink pen. I little imagination and ingenuity. This is a lot easier then designing and making art glass.

My guess is if Olympic would deliver to Trinidad this wouldnít be a discussion.
Not to dismiss if Olympic made such a great blow hose set up why would so many make their own. I could critique that but if you read my posts above you will gleam my decision to make my own rather then buy one off the shelf.

Firekist 1/4Ē 90degree double swivel for the win. If you own one you understand people that donít own one will say itís not worth the extra money.

Mark Armstrong 06-17-2019 06:51 PM

I've used thera-band for years, works great.
