Heater crossing thermocouple

My heating coil need to cross over or under the thermocouple.
I am thinking about stretching the coil and slipping it under or over the thermocouple. Any warning or comments?

I would drill a new hole for the thermocouple before I would do anything to change the element. Every little thing you do like that causes uneven heating and stress to the element. Maybe just drill and angle the thermocouple above the element.

Sky you mentioned something very important about the groves for the coils but I canít find it now. It was something about the shape of the grove and the reflected heat in the grove.
Can you remember?
