Gold colors always do best in a lead base. Always add a tiny amount of selenium to those melts. The hard part is getting the lead. These days, I see the bisilicate sold for $20 dollars a lb. I pay 98 cents for it in Shanghai. I can't import it. At this point here, I have about 350lbs of the monosilicate and the litharge left maybe a bit more and that will take me to the end of the line. I rarely melt it anymore.
Your health will be fine. Ventilate the facility well. wear gloves and a respirator. Jordan's little grow booth would work well.
