Pipes and pun ties dimensions

What diameter size head is your pipe and why did you choose that size?
What size punty head and why.
Thanks
Franklin

When I built my first round of pipes/punties, I made them as follows:

- All my main pipes are 3/4" along the body, with one larger 1" head and the rest straight 3/4" heads.

- I also have two smaller pipes that are just lengths of 1/2" stainless tube, but those don't get used often, only for extra small molds that can't fit a larger pipe.

- My punties are two sizes, 3/4" and 1/2". The 3/4" rods get used for solid sculpting and puntying larger work, the 1/2" rods get used for bits/wraps and puntying cups

I chose those sizes because they fit the work I do, which is rarely larger than 3-4 gathers. Mostly cups and small-to-medium sized vessels, with some mold-blown stuff and solid sculpture. If I were going to add anything, it would be a couple 5/8" straight pipes and some more cleverly-shaped punties (a counterweighted 5/8", and a 3/4" body to 1/2" head stepdown). Definitely not necessary though.

Thanks Eric. Glad you made yours because I made mine also but never checked if I was using the correct size pipe for the correct size piece.
I would just use any size pipe I had for any size piece.
I made my 1 in pipe head with a piece of ss motor shaft machined to press fit the 3/4 in pipe. The punty is .62 and .5 ins
About 3 ins from end of head to edge of pipe
