Unfortunately I'm not attending GAS this year. I was wondering if anyone on this thread is attending. If so please let me know what comes up. We do buy from OCR.
If someone wants a few samples to wave around let me know!

They'd probably deny that it's theirs.
They might even claim it's a conspiracy against them & their fine product/company.

As long as the orders keep coming in, the crap will keep being shipped out. It's a "supply & demand" thing. The numbers will tell them what they can get away with.

Complain LOUDLY to Phil. He makes money on those sales. Take note that he replaced the stuff Jordan had with no question. Why are you treated differently?

I don't order the cullet - my partner does. I thought it came from Spectrum. Now I know it comes from OCR. We will be complaining shortly!

Hugh, you really have to be trusting and/or careful with that approach. I swear my wife fabricates all kinds of things that I said, did, or promised to do. (At least I think that's what happens...!?! )

I received a call from Phil at OCR out of the blue yesterday (thanks to whoever game him my name) and he said Spectrum never received my email. I forwarded it to him as well as more pictures of the stuff we have been finding. He says he will take care of us.....

Thank the Power of craftweb. A Normal day has 800 members with about the same number lurking and not registered. That's a lot of people reading all about the cullet. If I was selling stuff with junk in it, I wouldn't want the bad press either.

Came home today to a message that we will be getting new glass. I will never knock OCR customer service that's for sure! Or the power of CraftWEB!

I think it's really good that OCR is doing right by you. That's a n expensive correction when you add on the shipping. There are still a lot of other folks who got bad cullet. I don't see Spectrum Glass making any public statements of contrition or change.

They should take definite action. I know they're reading this thread.

They may not make any public statement, but if they know there is an issue, and plan to fix it, I think they should say something.

With the issues with availability of Spruce Pine cullet, my shop has been considering switching to Spectrum. However, if we are going to have this uncertainty on whether we'd be able to get a quality product, I'm arguing against it.

Spruce Pine Batch continues to be a n excellent product. The mythology about melting it as messy just evades me.

Most of these people don't remember what we went thru years ago with Louie cullet. Some things never change just new faces.

I remember when they decided to switch their formula without telling anyone. That was a nightmare!

Yeah, I remember when they switched the cigarette butts from Marlboros to Marlboro Lights. Threw off the schedules something awful! Once found a car key in a sack of Louie we were washing.

It appears that we are about to go down the road of speculation regarding the origins of Bugler tobacco. Floor sweepings anyone?

I talked to someone yesterday who despite being aware of the current issues with unrequested inclusions in System96 cullet , was still ready to buy it. It didn't matter to the individual if it had stones or not. It was really easy.

A new low for Studio Glass. It can be called "Ceramic Aventurine".

go watch again, Eben's "All I Want To Do is Blow Glass" and that's almost spot on for today's young glassmakers. and some think it's progress.
