Watlow buzzing

Got to the studio this morning and my Watlow was buzzing real loud.... I have a 400# Stadleman....I thought that it might have been a partial load thing so we tightened all the clamps and straps, but it continued. We are still at temp, but the recovery is a little sluggish. This is not the programmable "brain", but the one with the fuse and contacts in it...... any suggestions?

what is the positive cut off relay? I have Mercury relays that live to buzz. It could also be rf interference with the scr. If that's the case it can be fixed with a snubber that fits over the wire. You should be able to isolate the buzzing sound. You can use a dry wooden dowel just hold it gently against what your testing and you should be able to either feel it or quiet it down.

I'm sure someone probably knows exactly what your describing but when you said wattlow all I can think of is the programmable controller.

We feel that it is the contact buzzing.... I have a spare, but that has "buzzing" written on it, so it has happened before....

My recollection was of the transformers buzzing if they were turned down too far, but I have no idea about the watlow. Call Watlow.
