now, these appear to be water heater type elements. Is that correct? In a studio, what was your intended function?

Elements

Hi Pete:
The elements were made for me by LnL kilns through Rob Battey.
I was having trouble getting my kiln to reach temperature so I purchased these as a solution. I ended up going another route, so they were never installed .

I'll bet.
normally, water heater elements are used immersed in water. Otherwise, they burn up really fast. .
This the same , or an equivalent:

So, is it like this? Am I really way off here?

Hi Pete:
I attached a picture. I honestly know nothing about water heaters.

A picture's worth a thousand words.

The things in the photo are quite usable in a kiln Jeanne. the description code you supplied is for something very different- a hot water heater element. It's good to have that cleared up.
