I was in Ephesus with my daughter back in 2011 . It's a city that was pure Roman in Turkey, about twenty miles south of Izmir. The town was not a town, it was huge and was a seaport. Today, it's 20 miles from the ocean. It's totally preserved.

The main street through the city is about 25 feet wide and closes on a mile long. It's entirely a mosaic in glass beads. Stunning. You just walk on it If you ever get the chance, go there.
