Be gentle. After all, he's "excepting" his first child.

Anyone know who is selling them? He's a Seattle glassblower so that really narrows it down I bet he'll get pretty close to his price since some people seem fairly obsessed with Dinos. I'll just keep necking with that folded up wire hanger I use...

How can you tell it's from a Seattle blower? The posting I see just says United States.

It's the price that's the tipoff- if he wasn't from Seattle they'd only be $1400.

People who actually think that as a mediocre glassblower, it will make them better. it won't. Jacks aren't going to help you design and that's what's hard. People who love to psyche people out because of what they have. It might. I remember that Dale used to just sweep all of the frit off of a marver on to the floor while working on a piece. He did it solely to screw with glassblower's heads.

I mean who would pay $250K for a turnkey studio. It happens quite frequently.

Did you clean them off with a sander and a wire brush to make them look new?
I like them over the Dino . But am still using some old Jim Moore Jacks, I do not think the glass minds.

Unfortuneatly these jacks have been cleaned with a rotary tool and stripped off the finished surface. Caveat emptor. Dino rolled in his grave when buddy decided to do that.

I will have you know that in the Shanghai factory, they had one pair of Jim Moore's. That was it. They make their own very peculiar tools which I will probably be replacing with tools from Jeff Lindsay's red hot metal.

I am thrilled there is still this much interest in our craft/art. Be they Dino, Moore, Marukos, or CE.

Best jacks I own are Ivan smith jacks. The are superior to Dino's in every way.

Unhappy headed for ebay

I have always felt/observed that the steel in the blades of Jim Moore's jacks was superior to that in the Dino's I bought 22 years ago. I nearly sent my Dinos to Jim to get the blades replaced. I now have extreme health concerns which likely mean I have taken my final gather. Ebay here we come.

I think it's an umbrella affair, or sister enterprises, something.

I think it was a matter of not registering one's website domain name.

RS/CE/RHM History

OK, here is the short version.
1st shears & pipes in the late 70's were Random Specialties.
Cutting Edge Products started after a hiatus into the bicycle business.
911 happens
Plan B is hatched, ie better broaden the offering. So we started
Red Hot Metal, Inc. & incorporated because of the broad offerings.
The name Cutting Edge Products, "Inc." was take long ago.
We branded the tools under Red Hot Metal, but everyone always refereed to them as Cutting Edge.
So after a few years as Red Hot Metal on the tools we switched back to Cutting Edge Products and now brand them as Cutting Edge.
There are some Red Hot Metal marked tools out there. Same exact tools as we have always made just the different name.
There is more history here & you can see the Plan B things we do as well if you cruse around the site.
Thanks for the interest.

Any questions send me a note.
