lead cullet for sale

After over a year of searching I have finally found a source for lead cullet for casting.
If interested or know someone who is please call me at 804 334 8462.

Cost will most likely be in the $5 range. I am hoping to finalize the purchase in the next week or two.

Have you run a small sample cast yet? Lead is not necessarily the happiest of campers remelted.

I'm picking up a sample and some formulas on Tuesday.

Will post results of the test casting.

I'm pretty optimistic after talking to the seller.

I have a few thousand lbs of LF5 strip from Schott and also 300 lbs of F7 strip

LF5 and F7 are very good casting glasses. I would be happy to show you some of the large pieces I have cast with these glasses over the years.

Give me a call if you are interested.

Thanks, Chris

LF 5 is a great casting glass if slumped.

trials

I cast 3 pieces with the lead glass that I picked up.

1 opened face,
1 with lots of small detail and
1 charging through the sprue.

They all worked great. I used the same firing cycle that I used for the St George crystal that I bought 12 years ago. I am assuming it is the same glass that is available now.

Once I get a chance to clean up the pieces I will post pictures.

I am happy.

I can start casting bigger pieces again.
