Glass Hand

An old friend is looking for a glass sculpted or cast hand for a hand therapist as a gift. I told her I didn't make them & would look for her. I found nothing with google. Does anyone have a lead....I don't know her budget. Thanks.

Weird. You'd think hand paperweights would be a thing. Feet seem to be more commonly available; also weird.

I found this, but it's involved and pricey:

I've got a couple that I made as a series that depicted what I was experiencing with arthritis. If interested , let me know and I'll send pics.
Been a long time since we've crossed paths, still remember being with your goats.

Nick Davis went to Emporia State University and has been on some team from the Glass Museum . He worked for me briefly and while here made a very cool sculpted glass hand and a little man sculpture. I noticed that one of his hands was sold at the Pilchuck Auction I think, You might try to contact him i think he is a very talented sculptor. Just a finger pointing in a Northwesterly direction.

I made a wall in a school once where a class of 25 or so kids shoved their hand into a 6 x6 inch mold with oil sand used in casting aluminum, and then cast glass into the sand, making blocks. maybe you should rethink about making something? It was a piece of cake

I make them. Mine are hot sculpted out of borosilicate glass and then sandblasted to a nice soft white finish. Usually 5-6 inches tip to tip. Feel free to PM me if your interested.

If your friend is not stuck on glass, Nick Davis makes metal hands as well.https://www.etsy.com/listing/2186009..._home_active_1

Thank you Michael, Larry & Cecil. It looks like a transaction has started with my friend & Tom Fuhrman.
