Scale in cullet
If you have bits of scale in the cullet for remelting. Does it drill holes in the pot, or affect the small pot.

If your work is entirely clear, yes the iron tone will show. If you are adding color, you'll likely never see it at all.

Add a wee bit of iron oxide to it and enjoy some Black Forest glass. It is so beautiful.

It can take a charge to wash out the tint, but it really depends on how clean the batch is that you are charging. As long as you don't scrupulously sort your cullet you will keep recycling the iron (and chrome) from pipe scale. We save out the "near clear" and wait for a time close to crucible replacement and plan for some tinted melts. At least the scale dissolves in well.
