Reusable mold material
I'm slumping to about 1300 in an open faced mold with some detail but not crazy tight parameters. Looking for a reusable mold material rather than plater/silica. That option works fine except for the fragility of the mold after one firing. I didn't see much in the archive and Henry's book is in storage as Ive moved recently.
Anyone have experience with a refractory mold material? Happy new year and thanks to Pete for keeping this forum up and running. |

Ceramic clay, Kaiser Lee board , or rigidized ceramic fiber will all work.

If the detail is not too intricate, and there are no undercuts, a rigid sand mold made with sodium silicate can be good for a few burns.
