I googled them and ARTCO is also selling them Vic. There is also a reference to a German company which says it manufactures the things. I had thought they were Danish. I would like to get another orifice for my big exact unit.

So what makes the exact burner better then the rest? I have several different models of these type burners in the shop and always wondered what makes one better then the other.

My go to is a goss 500,000 btu burner. It has a concentric flame and lots of heat. I bought it in a set of two and switched the orfice and burner head to the short handled version. These sell at the local builders supply two burners quick connects hose and regulator for aprox $100. I see the local store has a new brand they are pushing they claim it is a hotter burner but I doubt your going to get much more then 500,000 btus out of any of them.

Does anyone know what the exact is rated at? I would also be very curious to know what the orfice size is on the exact if anyone knows. Anyway I'd buy one in a heart beat if I thought it was any better then the rest. Opinions please.

back then, exact was the only game in town. i'd use the roofers torch any day. may have to go buy one. exacts were about 300-500k btu i believe. v

Indeed it works. It's the big head, not the little one. Manly and sucks propane like it was sucking air out of a tire.
