"The series of vases he crafted last year for a show in New York features rounded bottoms and a cascade of deep greens and luscious pinks that conjure the island’s vibrant, whipsawed history. “Glass, by nature, has a certain mystery,” he says, “but Murano is the deepest, most soulfully mysterious of them all.”"
Holy confetti and word barf batman. |

My Dad, before he died, simply said "Glass is a Chalice for Light."
I have always loved that.

If that's what you're looking for you may prefer the ones from HGC.

That NYT piece was fluff, just marketing for the artists and nothing more, by someone who knows little about the field.

It's an equivalent of click bait. A publicist submits this sort of stuff to all sorts of publications and they file it away. Periodically, the publication will need something to fill a magazine and they drag it out, on deadline and it goes into print. The ACC used to have tons of this sort of stuff and it's what a publicist gets paid to do.
It's almost never good journalism. It's an ad.

That tutti frutti "Brut vessel" was too cringe, you'd hope they'd of been able to fine something nicer, especially with a $1900 price tag. It was also all about "designers" and nothing about actual makers.

Right , I always loved those photos of Tiffany in a muscle T shirt at the bench all waxed and everything.. Dale has some buff ones too. ( Actually, Dale was a good glassblower) . Carder once observed that if a piece was moving too slowly, you had to keep pricing it up until it started to sell.

My first wholesale account (in NYC) subscribed to that. He'd move stuff around first and then start raising prices. It worked for him.
