Are they real? They look a little rough and I can't figure out if the sharpie on the logo is just bad or the logo is? But I haven't had Dino's in my hand or seen them a lot.

They don't look like Dinos to me. Maybe they are very old??? but I don't think so. The signature? looks like it was drawn on with a sharpy or something. I think they are Essemce jacks.

Jacks are a bad rip. Don't even bother. But on the other hand....On the eBay page that came up on my screen was a 12-12 optic mold for $50. I have one of those and it is "The One" for more bang, for your buck. Made a lot of money from it. $50 is cheap.

Ding, ding, ding. It was a joke and commentary on the adoration of Dinos, but using ridiculous jacks to do it. I thought the Toensing logo on the strap would be easily visible in one of the photos. These old jacks are in amazing condition, but they are awful in every way! (In their defense, Toensing was making tools a loooong time ago. I have some of their parcioffi handles and they're actually great.)

They had a striking resemblance of old putsch blades. This happens on ebay with spiderman comics quite a lot but people fall for it regularly.

maybe making a throne out of used glass tools like in Game of Thrones would make an excellent chair for some lucky glassworker.

Patchen, you got way too much time on your hands, dude. It was funny though.
Those Toensings were the only jacks we had at school when I started. Amazingly difficult tool to use. Essence were a big upgrade later on. Then I bought a pair of Dinos in '83 that I still use daily.

There is a new auction on eBay for an actual pair of Dino’s. Currently at a remarkably low bid. We’ll see where it winds up.

The blades are well worn and quite pitted.

I know others that have sanded the back strap to make the jacks more responsive. I’ve also seen and own a pair where the spring steel cracks from being thinned out to much. They were probably a delight for the owner but they will never have the same feel as Dino intended.
