Praise

I need to share how much I love the new Spruce Pine 87 formula. They found a new supplier for silica snd Lime and it has increased the optic quality of the batch considerably. I melt their ďQĒ version of 87 W/erbium and itís nothing short of water clear crystal. Itís lost if you cover in frit or use opaque bar but Iím blown away by its purity.

What I was told is that the regular SP 87 with erbium will now be as clear as the old Texas sand version which is beautiful in its own right. Before this switch I was definitely picking up tones of green in my clear work with the regular sp w/er version.

So thereís my 10Ę

The "Q" is the snowflake? I knew there was an issue with grain size on the silica which was solvable. . I have loved the Minispar site for feldspar since the Kona plant burned down. I use the snowflake in my batch glasses SP mixes for me.

Q means quality. As in high quality.
Itís like looking at a piece of Steuben crystal.

If I remember right it was 10Ę more a pound than the 87 w/erbium. Or in other words itís the same price as the Texas sand recipe
