parallel concentrators

I am trying to parallel two concentrators and when I turn them on the ball in the visionaire drops to about 2 from 5 the other one (Devilbliss) is ok. Devill bliss and visionaire output pressure set at 8.4psig. Before paralleling pressure steady .
output pressure after paralleling is steady at 8.4psi.
I was thinking about increasing the pressure of the visionaire until the ball raises. But then with no load the pressure will be high.
Adding an external one way valve.
So anyone tried paralleling? What happened?

You might have to do a bit of trawling - but I'm sure you will find what you're after here.

Everyone I know who uses concentrators has them feeding a compressor, which fills a k tank. This way they have no limitations.

Thanks for the replies. I may have to go for the compressor but would like to fix this first. The good thing about this board is that you get good advice.
Interesting problem to solve. I like.

I run 3 parallel concentrators and haven't noticed any problems like you are having, unless the flow of the units are being restricted in some way. Make sure the O2 valve on the torch is open all the way and always stays open. See if that fixes it.

I reconfigured the hoses to try and balance the flow and now both flows are dropping when I block the output tube with my finger but one drops much faster than the other. I will live with this and see what happens later.
David or anyone do you have a one way valve on the outputs of the concentrator.
Thanks

water in the air is a killer for the concentrator.
Does anyone have moisture problems.

I do not have any one way valves on my system. I'm in CA so I don't have a humidity problem. Back pressure is really bad for the units, avoid it at all costs and keep the O2 valve always wide open. If you have trouble just regulating your flame with the gas valve because of too much O2 flow, add another bleed valve somewhere on the line to reduce the flow to the torch without reducing the outflow from the concentrators.

Thanks David. I need all the oxygen I can get. Glass turning brown with too much propane or not enough oxy.
Using a mega minor with 2 conc if I can parallel them without back pressure caused by one unit pushing into the other.hoping a little difference in pressure between the units will be ok.
