It had to happen eventually...

Hi all.

It would seem that the time has come to play out the fantasy I'm sure we've all discussed over a hot gather, at some point.

Good luck to all available!

That's a lot to go through for a potential payout of only $380 US.

But think of the EXPOSURE! You could be a famous TV star! Don't all artists love doing unpaid work for a chance to really "get their name out there"?

This could be interesting if people are forced to solo blow.

The questionnaire seems to mention flameworking as almost an afterthought. I wonder who the judges will be; I'd look for a Doug, a Suzanne, etc.

Chatted with this guy from the production company on phone then email. Asked him quite a few questions for specifics re. different glassworking methods, he was really fluffy and self promoting on the phone, after a lot of specific questions, Here's his follow up response... still feel a bit vague on their vision for the competition.

Hey Paul!

We are looking for all types of glass blowers. If you produce beautiful art through glass blowing, then you are qualified!

The competition will be held in Ontario, Canada. Production will cover all travel and costs during filming.

Thank you for helping spread the word!!

Maybe it's just make the coolest thing out of glass you can, regardless of technique.

Who is the judge cause I tell you the plug left after breaking the crucible off my 100lbs pot when the hurricane hit proves to be the most conversation starting piece I have ever made. I use it for a door stop.

I can see it being like Forged in Fire. Your challenge make 4 foot tall reticello spittoon in 2 hours.

If they where smart they would force all the participants to work for and with each other. No assistance at all only the other participants.

Oh look a crappy avolio....bummer.

Oh look a crappy blown foot bring...bummer.

Oh look and over heated color drop....bummer.

Oh look at that, someone put that goblet attachment right in the hottest part of the garage!....bummer.

The fireworks would be legendary as egos clashed.

Oh...and Mark not like you are doing anything during that span...at all...

I think TV in general has jumped the shark. TV for drone racing, cupcake competitions, and the like. If Honey Boo Boo, Jersey Shore, Iron Chef, and celebrity addiction shows aren't the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse I don't know what is.

“Cornhole” is an xxx-rated verb as far as I know.

About a year after I moved to North Carolina (I've lived most of my life on the west coast) I got my first teaching job at a small community college located about 25 miles outside of Charlotte. More rural with a lot of big pickup trucks with Trump and Confederate flag stickers. On one of my first commutes I wound up behind this silver pickup with advertising graphics all over. In giant letters it said "CORNHOLES." I managed to keep up in traffic, and snap a pic at a light. It took a few more months before I learned it's what the game is called here. The name's regional, but I don't know if it's all over the south.

Get a load of the terminology used.

My first time hearing it was 5 or 6 years ago in Florida. It is a common game in Louisiana, so yes, it is all over the South....

I heard it used as the name of a game for the first time only a few weeks ago. I grew up in NYC, where a man's a man and a beanbag toss is a beanbag toss.

Anyone recall the guy who ran for the US Senate in Missouri a few years back who talked about his general fondness of the barnyard animals in his developmental youth? He wasn't shy about it. He did lose...

I too was amused at the Cornhole finals...

After 4000+ episodes NBC canceled the Jerry Springer Show....said he couldn't compete with the news channels
