Blowhose and swivel
Ok I have been using this swivel for the last year and I don't think you will ever find a better quality swivel then these. Both legs swivel so no more unwinding your blowhose. He also sells neon electrode boots. The 15-16 mm boot will fit nicely over the standard blowpipe. Snug fit easy on,off and super light weight. I noticed he is selling direct thru etsy so I thought I would post it here for easy shopping. I have nothing to gain if you buy one just feel it is a superior product that is worth owning. If you use a blowhose you will thank me. I use the 1/4" swivel.

I would like to encourage him to explore our market. I'm going to guess there are as many off hand glass workers as scientific workers these days. |

With both ends swiveling it makes a huge difference.
A little graphite on the swivel helps to keep it moving well too. Everyone I have seen wears their blow hose differently. I have a name badge holder with the pull out string. I clip it on the right side of my shirt with the blow end about six inches out. I run the hose behind my neck and use a black binder clip on my left shoulder to hold the hose in place. The left side is free and pretty easy to control. I keep it in my back pocket when it is not plugged into the pipe. What do you do?

Sky,
I have been using this rig which I ordered after your post the other day. It is really very nice and way less leakage from the get-go than the brass fittings that I have ordered in the past. The brass single swivel fittings have typically leaked a bit even when new. This stainless one has almost no leakage, ie. you get what you blow. Thanks for the tip and I gave Seth a heads up on your referral to furnace workers on Craftweb. |

And the neoprene fitting over the Delrin mouthpiece is snug and very efficient.

I never thought much about the quality of the swivel till I experienced the diference. I'm still back and forth on the neon boots. They always go on easy but sometimes I find myself wrestling them off. That's ok now and then but in production it can get tiring. I found 1" heater hose goes on the blowpipe easy on and off. Maybe a little sanding first to scuff up the rubber and a wrap of electrical tape outside to tighten it up as it wears. I have the swivel in a rubber stopper in the end of the 3" piece of heater hose.
I will try to describe what works for me. I have a braided necklace the hose attaches to. The necklace has a piece of stiff wire a few inches long running along the bottom of the loop. My blowhole attaches to the wire with a few wraps of tape. This keeps the hose from folding over and makes the mouthpiece easy acses always landing in the same spot on my chest. I do not wrap the hose around my neck or through my shirt it just hangs. When I'm not connected the swivel end goes in my front left pocket for easy reach. I know that may be hard to imagine and I'm sure it won't work for everyone but it works well for me. |

You can buy them direct but they only sell them in quantity. Seth doesn't make much on the boots more of just a one stop service. |
